Terms of service
Last updated: 7 October 2026
1. The service
TrulyRedacted (the "Service") is a website operated by [YOUR FULL NAME OR COMPANY NAME], [STREET AND NUMBER, POSTCODE CITY, COUNTRY], operating as an unregistered business activity (działalność nierejestrowana) under Polish law, e-mail hello@rorvia.com (the "Operator"). It provides software that runs in your web browser and lets you open PDF documents (including password-protected ones), images and videos, automatically detect personal data (such as identification numbers, bank account and card numbers, contact details, names and addresses) as well as faces and license plates, show hidden data in documents, review the findings, redact or keep them and export the result together with an audit report. All processing takes place on your device; the Operator does not receive, store or transmit your files.
2. Free use
The Service is provided free of charge for private, professional and commercial use, without registration. Donations are voluntary and do not create any entitlement to additional services. The Operator may change, suspend or discontinue the Service at any time. These terms are available free of charge before and during use and can be saved or printed.
3. Technical requirements
You need a device with Internet access (at least for the first visit) and a current browser with JavaScript and WebAssembly enabled (for example current Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari). Video export requires the WebCodecs API, which is currently available in Chrome and Edge on desktop computers. Processing speed depends on your device. Large model files may be downloaded once when you first use a function.
4. Automatic detection, review and verification
The Service assists redaction; it does not replace human review. Automatic detection is based on patterns, checksums, dictionaries, OCR and machine-learning models. It can miss items (for example names in unusual forms, data in poor-quality scans, faces at unusual angles) and it can flag items that are not personal data. You must review the list of findings and the exported file before you share or publish it. The built-in verification checks that the values you marked for redaction can no longer be extracted from the exported document; it cannot detect what was never found in the first place.
The Operator makes no guarantee that any file produced with the Service is complete, correct, suitable for a particular purpose or compliant with any law, regulation or court practice. Whether and how a document must be anonymised or pseudonymised is your decision as the controller of the data; the Operator is not a law firm and the Service does not provide legal advice.
5. Your obligations
- You may only process files that you are entitled to process. You are responsible for complying with the data-protection, confidentiality, copyright and other laws that apply to you and to the files, including with respect to the personal data of other people.
- You must not use the Service to falsify documents, to conceal information you are legally obliged to disclose, or for any other unlawful purpose. Open password-protected files only if you are entitled to use the password.
- Always keep a copy of your original files. The Service creates new files and never modifies your originals, but the Operator is not responsible for data stored in your browser being deleted by the browser, by you or by a system failure.
- You must not use the Service to interfere with, overload or attack the website or its hosting.
6. Intellectual property
The Service, its design and code are protected by copyright. Third-party components are used under their own open-source licences, which are listed on the legal notice page. You keep all rights to your files, the redacted files and the reports you create. The Operator does not claim any rights to them and does not have access to them.
7. No warranty
The Service is provided "as is" and "as available". The Operator does not warrant that it will be free of errors, uninterrupted, compatible with every browser, file or device, or that the automatic detection or redaction will produce a particular result.
8. Liability
To the extent permitted by law, the Operator is liable only for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence. This does not limit liability for death or personal injury or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law. Nothing in these terms limits the statutory rights of consumers.
9. Complaints
Problems and complaints can be reported by e-mail to hello@rorvia.com. Please describe the problem and, if possible, your browser; please do not attach files containing personal data of other people. We reply within 14 days. The Operator is not obliged and not willing to take part in dispute-resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration body.
10. Changes
The Operator may update these terms when the Service changes. The current version is always available on this page with the date of the last update.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of Poland, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection provisions of the country in which you reside. Consumers in the European Union keep the protection of those provisions and may bring claims before the courts of their place of residence. Personal data is processed as described in the privacy policy.
